Recently, the Zhuyuan Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is part of the "Suzhou Creek Comprehensive Environmental Improvement Phase IV Project", has been put into new construction, opening a new chapter of the Suzhou Creek Environmental Sustainability Project.

The Zhuyuan Sewage Treatment Plant Phase IV project to optimise the spatial layout, enhance the land utilisation rate as the main objective, the design planning to the sludge treatment centre in the centre, the east and west sewage treatment areas as two wings of the "two areas and one heart" overall layout. After the completion of the project, the total sewage treatment scale will reach 3.4 million cubic metres per day, ranking first in Asia.

In this project, a new wastewater treatment plant with a scale of 1.2 million m3/day, a sludge treatment centre with an average scale of 120 tonnes of dry basis/day, and a total length of about 5 kilometres of inlet and outlet mains are being built. The safe and smooth operation of the supporting motors and pumps put forward unprecedented challenges and high requirements.
